Picking mulberries, tasting Fushan steamed buns, listening to the sounds of nature...On the morning of May 21, the Yantai Experience of Foreign Friends was held at the Yusheng mulberry garden at Dongting Sub-district of Fushan District, Yantai. Near 20 foreign friends from countries like the US, Germany, Russia and Vietnam walked into Fushan to have a close feeling of the development achievements of rural revitalization in Yantai and the charm of traditional culture there.
Walking in the mulberry forest, the scent of mulberry can make your mouth water. Strings of amethyst mulberries hanging on the branches attracted the attention of foreign friends, who were holding a basket filled with the mulberries they had picked from the trees. They posed for photos in excitement. While tasting the fresh mulberries, Vivi, an overseas student from Indonesia studying in Shandong Technology and Business University thumbed up and said, "The mulberries here are so sweet. It's the first time I taste the fruit. I will come here again next time."
After the picking, the foreign friends also learned to make steamed buns with mulberries from the local villagers. They tasted the steamed buns they had made. Farooq from Afghanistan praised, "It's really yummy. I have never known that mulberry can be made into food. It's amazing to me when I taste the food today. The steamed bun also tastes good."
"I like the Yantai Experience Activities very much, since I can meet new friends from different countries and have a deep understanding of the customs of China." Olech from Germany told the reporter.
