Moscow [Russia], May 23 (ANI): Tehran took a swipe at US President Donald Trump by circulating a trending video of an albino buffalo from Bangladesh that bears a striking resemblance to him. Amid the ongoing friction between Washington and Tehran, Iran asserted that the animal had gone off its food after being likened to the American politician.

In a post on X, the official handle of Iran in Russia posted: 'Poor thing! Bangladeshi buffalo upset by comparisons to Donald Trump.'

The digital upload featured a report from Russian state broadcaster RT, which noted: 'A Bangladeshi buffalo that resembles Trump has lost its appetite after people flocked to see him.'

The viral bovine, dubbed 'Donald Trump', has turned into a major draw ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha festive period in the Narayanganj district of Bangladesh, located near the capital city of Dhaka.

Weighing 700 kg, the albino creature captured widespread internet interest owing to its distinctive golden-hued coat and facial characteristics. Countless web users pointed out that the animal shared uncanny similarities with the American head of state.

'When I saw his pictures on Facebook, he looked exactly like Donald Trump. His facial structure and even hairstyle match that of Trump,' an onlooker remarked to the regional publication Prothom Alo.

The livestock is slated for sacrifice during the Eid al-Adha commemorations in Bangladesh.

The bovine's caretaker, Ziauddin Mridha, mentioned that massive throngs of curious onlookers have been turning up at the agricultural property every day to snap photographs alongside the animal ever since it gained widespread internet fame.

This lighthearted trolling comes against a backdrop of deep geopolitical hostility. On February 28, joint military strikes were launched by the US and Israel against Iran, targeting various military assets and strategic locations. The physical confrontation sparked multiple weeks of intense drone deployments, missile exchanges, and retaliatory strikes from both sides before a fragile truce took hold in April.

Ever since that period, diplomatic relations have remained severely strained, with both capitals regularly engaging in sharp rhetorical broadsides and digital confrontations through official public pronouncements.

According to a report by Axios, President Trump convened a high-level briefing with top-ranking administration figures, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe. The executive team gathered to evaluate potential options for initiating a fresh wave of military strikes against Tehran should the current round of talks collapse completely.

The high-stakes White House deliberations coincided with a period of frantic diplomatic manoeuvres. Pakistan's Army Chief, Asim Munir, travelled to Tehran in a visible bid to mediate differences and avert a fresh outbreak of open warfare. Simultaneously, an envoy from Qatar also arrived in Iran to bolster the ongoing mediation efforts.

Following these developments, President Trump modified his weekend schedule and made a public announcement confirming his early return to Washington. He skipped the wedding festivities of his son, Donald Trump Jr., citing 'circumstances pertaining to Government' and the pressing necessity to remain at the White House during this volatile phase.

Axios further reported that the US President has grown increasingly impatient with the deadlocked diplomatic tracks. He is currently understood to be shifting towards a potential 'decisive' military path if a meaningful breakthrough fails to materialise in the immediate future.

Amid these simmering international tensions, the narrative surrounding the animal took a commercial turn at the Rabeya Agro Farm in Narayanganj, where the rare four-year-old albino buffalo was officially sold ahead of the festival.

The internet sensation, known for its distinct pinkish hue and unique tuft of hair, was sold on a live-weight basis at 550 Taka per kilogram, making the total price approximately 3,85,000 Taka, the farm's owner, Zia Uddin Mairda, told ANI.

Mairda, who originally bought the buffalo ten months ago from the Rajshahi City Haat, explained that his younger brother affectionately gave it the name due to its distinctive hairstyle.

'This is just a symbolic name... we gave it this name out of affection and love,' Mairda told ANI, emphasising that a human and an animal can never be truly compared or equated.

The famous bovine was purchased by a trader identified as Mohammad Shoron from the Jinjira (Rasulpur) area specifically for the traditional Qurbani sacrifice during Eid al-Adha.

However, its viral celebrity status has brought unexpected complications to the transaction. When an ANI correspondent visited the Rasulpur area, Shoron refused to showcase the animal, stating that they had not yet received the delivery, as the buyer is apparently trying to hide the buffalo to avoid various troubles arising from its immense online fame.
