SWALEDALE, England: More than 60 people were snowed in for three nights at the Tan Hill Inn in Swaledale, in northern England, after the region was overwhelmed by Storm Arwen.
Snow blocked roads and brought down a power line, co-owner Andrew Hields, 36, told CNN.
"They are all in good spirits, they are all eating and drinking well," Hields added.
Two of the three routes leading to the isolated pub, which sits at an altitude of 1,732 feet above sea level, were blocked by snow drifts, and a downed power line closed the third, reported Hields, who was unable to reach the pub.
He noted that this was not the first time snow has stranded guests at the pub, and as soon as there is a weather warning, staff stock up on fuel, food and drink.
The power cable coming down has not affected the running of the pub, he said, noting, "We are completely off grid anyway."
A mountain rescue team was called in to evacuate one man who was undergoing dialysis treatment, but the remaining customers stayed on, Hields said.
Vicky Hodgson, a stranded guest, told CNN she drove to the pub in her motorhome and had to remain for the weekend.
"It has been a bit of a whirlwind weekend," said Hodgson, who praised the pub's staff for looking after everyone.
"Tan Hill have been absolutely brilliant. It has actually been really enjoyable," she added.
Storm Arwen caused weather warnings across the UK last week, and brought severe weather and strong winds to some areas.
fter the UK's Met Office described conditions as "horrendous," rare red weather warnings were issued last week, when at least three people died after strong winds blew trees over, reported PA Media.
